Views sought on sustainable expansion to Brackley

A public consultation launches next week on proposals for a new 700-home development to the west of Brackley

The community is being asked for its views on proposals for ‘Land West of Brackley’ – a new 700-home sustainable development in a well-connected location to the west of the town.

Ashfield Land and Vulpes Land – together with local housebuilder Davidsons Homes – are working in partnership to bring forward the proposals which will provide a logical next phase for Brackley’s growth. The proposed strategic development site will deliver the mix of new homes that Brackley needs, coupled with strong design principles and investment into community facilities and infrastructure.

With an emphasis on good connectivity, the proposals will link the new development back into the town and include a specific new road access onto the A422, making it simple to get to and from the site and avoiding putting pressure on smaller local roads.

The public consultation will run from Thursday 11 February to Monday 1 March 2021.

Feedback provided during the consultation will be considered ahead of an outline planning application being submitted to South Northamptonshire Council later this spring, setting out the basis for the site’s development.

Claire Cope, Director at Ashfield Land, said: “Brackley is growing and it’s important that this happens in a sensible and sustainable fashion. The Land West of Brackley site is the most logical location for the next phase of the town’s growth and a fantastic opportunity to deliver sustainable housing along with significant investment into infrastructure and the local community.”

Neal Watkins, Director at Vulpes Land, said: “My family’s history is rooted in Brackley, so helping the town to be successful is very special to me. Brackley has an opportunity to tap into the investment and momentum that is coming with the Oxford-Cambridge Arc initiative and we’re confident these proposals can play their part and truly benefit the town and its community.”
